When I started my blog in 2018, I knew I wanted to include history.
History has been increasingly important to me over the last few years and I wanted to share my love for it and encourage myself to push to learn more than I ever did before.
I won’t lie, I have struggled with juggling it as a series. These posts can take me hours, days, weeks to research and write but they’re always worth it . . . even when I find out something about someone I admire that disappoints me or makes me angry.
This year I really want to focus on these posts and give them the attention they deserve. And I really want to get others involved too!
Ancient Archive is all about talking about history that’s not talked about in schools enough, the areas in which standard education has failed us. And it’s about making learning history fun! Nothing would make me happier then to help cause the spark that ignites a passion for history in someone else.
Also, I want to hear about the people and events and places that you wished more people knew about. Don’t be shy! You can contribute as much or as little as you want!
🍃 Want to make a suggestion for someone/something/someplace who you would to see me cover on my blog? You totally can!
🍃 Want to write about someone/something/someplace as a guest blogger? You’re totally welcome here!
🍃 Want to write about someone/something/someplace on your own blog under the Ancient Archive series? Please do!
I do pretty much all of my research online from simple google searches as I’m no academic or historian. You can conduct your research and spend as much time on it as you like as long as you link to your sources in some way and please don’t just straight up copy and paste someone else’s work.
I want to hear your opinion. I want you to share how you feel about what you discover and learn. That’s what’s makes this fun!
It can be a little 100 word biography or 10000 words! It’s up to you!
All I ask is that you choose someone/something/someplace that isn’t covered properly in school. I don’t want to this series to focus on people and things that already get plenty of limelight. I want it to be for the marginalised and oppressed. I want it to be a place where we remember those whose histories have been erased and hidden.
As a matter of fact, I’m creating a spin off for this series called Hirschfeld Library Files. This series is specifically for LGBTQIAP+ areas of history. I’ll be sharing more on this one in an upcoming Ancient Archive on Dr. Magnus Hirschfeld! But all the graphics for it are already in the Google Drive folder I have linked below.
If you want to write a guest post/your own post but don’t know what to write about let me know as I have a long list of people I want to cover in this series and I’m more than happy to make suggestions and talk through things that are important to you to find the perfect fit.
Please feel free to DM me on twitter. Also I’m thinking if a lot of people get involved maybe I should try to set up a Discord server as an easier way for people to communicate with me and others who get involved? I’ve never set one up before so I’m not sure but I’m open to suggestions!
Below are some forums and resources to get you started if you want to participate!
People I’ve Covered So Far
I’ll try to keep this up to date!

Want to make a suggestion for what I should cover?
You can do that using this forum!
Keep in mind, I probably won’t cover cis, straight, able-bodied, white men because they already take up more than their fair share of history.
Want to Write a Guest Post for Ancient Archive?
You can do that using this forum!
Again, please keep in mind, I probably won’t accept requests for cis, straight, able-bodied, white men because they already take up more than their fair share of history.
Want to Write an Ancient Archive post on your own blog?
Go right ahead! But please tag me so that I can see it. You can also fill out this form if you want to make sure I see it!
You can find all the graphics I use in my posts in this Google Drive folder.
I can’t wait to cover more history!
And I really hope to be able to do this with other people. That would mean so much to me!
