I have never been someone that’s good at keeping up with new releases.
Sure sometimes I’ll give in to the hype and go out and buy them as soon as they’re released but do I read them immediately??? No. Absolutely not.
I am a human reader with many many flaws. But also I’m just not very good at keeping up with what’s coming out either.
I usually like to wait things out, watch for reviews to come in and then make a decision because I hate being disappointed.
I’m probably still going to wait for reviews on these books to come out before I pick them up but I wanted to make a list of ones I might be interested so I can at least put them on my unreleased shelf so they can stay on my radar and not be lost forever.

│We Used to be Friends│Amy Spalding│7/1/20│🌈│
There are breakup tunes and lovesick ballads and celebrating-that-he-was-gone anthems. It was easy to believe that romance was the only heartache out there.
I have had my fair share of bad friend breakups and they are one of the most heartbreaking things.
And narratives about complex female friendships are some of my favourites when they are done right.
│Scavenge the Stars│Scavenge the Stars #1│Tara Sim│7/1/20│🌈☀️🌹│
Also, I’m a sucker for gender-swapped anything.
│You Too?│Janet Gurtler│7/1/20│🌹🔥│
I will always support and listen to women telling their #MeToo experiences.
│Dark and Deepest Red│Anna-Marie McLemore│14/1/20│🌈☀️│
I am still yet to read a single book my McLemore and yet I still add almost every single one of their books to my TBR as soon as I hear about it.
I know I’ll love their books so why the fuck haven’t I read one yet??? Nobody knows, least of all me but god this cover is gorgeous so maybe this will be the one.
│Foul is Fair│Foul is Fair #1│Hannah Capin│18/2/20│🌹🔥│
Sweet sixteen is when the claws come out.
I am here for the revenge fantasies of girls getting vengeance on the boys who’ve hurt them.
│When We Were Magic│Sarah Gailey│3/3/20│🌈│
Queer witches, strong female friendships, murder.
What’s not to love????
│When You Were Everything│Ashley Woodfolk│10/3/20│☀️│
Another book about friendship breakups?
I AM THERE!
│Queen of Coin and Whispers│Helen Corcoran│6/4/20│🌈│
She loved me as I loved her, fierce as a bloodied blade.
Honestly, it was that quote that got me for this book.
I WANT FIERCE SAPPHIC LOVE STORY!
│Little Universes│Heather Demetrios│7/4/20│🌹│
Demetrios’s Bad Romance just about killed me so I’m so excited for her to murder me with Little Universes.
│Girl, Serpent, Thorn│Melissa Bashardoust│12/5/20│🌈│
Girls Made of Snow and Glass was such an amazing retelling and I’m incredibly excited to read another one from Bashardoust!
And the cover is so pretty!
│The Scapegracers│The Scapegracers #1│Hannah Abigail Clarke│12/5/20│🌈│
Rich with the urgency of feral youth, The Scapegracers explores growing up and complex female friendship with all the rage of a teenage girl. It subverts the trope of competitive mean girls and instead portrays a mercilessly supportive clique of diverse and vivid characters.
I was already on board for a book about a lesbian witch but this quote from the synopsis on Goodreads is really what has made me excited about this one!
│Cemetery Boys│Aiden Thomas│9/6/20│🌈☀️│
I saw the cover for this book on twitter and fell in love!
But also a trans bruja fucking around with ghosts sounds amazing!
│We Are Not Free│Traci Chee│9/6/20│☀️│
All around me, my friends are talking, joking, laughing. Outside is the camp, the barbed wire, the guard towers, the city, the country that hates us.
We are not free.
But we are not alone.
Up until a couple of years ago, I had no knowledge about the concentration camps filled with Japanese Americans during World War II.
I’m really looking forward to reading a book about it and learning more but I’m fully ready to get emotional af.
│The Falling in Love Montage│Ciara Smyth│9/6/20│🌈│
My gay heart is not ready for this cute shit.
#OwnVoices Ace/Aro book by the author that gave us the Heartsopper graphic novels which make me so warm and fuzzy so I’m super excited!
│Bridge of Souls│Cassidy Blake #3│Victoria Schwab│1/9/20│
I can’t make a list of anticipated releases without including my Queen Schwab. Plus that woman is pumping out books at an alarming rate.
I haven’t read the second book in the series but I really enjoyed reading the first book last year and this one is set in New Orleans which is a place I have always wanted to visit!
I love a good YA horror. I want creepy and unnerving. I want to be kept awake at night I’m so scared and this book sounds like it’ll deliver.
│The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue│V.E. Schwab│6/10/20│
Like I said, Schwab is pumping out books at an alarming rate and oh look, here’s another one!
And this one is probably the book I am most excited for because it’s about a French girl and the devil falling in love and HELLO!!!!!!! That’s sounds brilliant!!!!
2020 is really bringing it with the cover art!
What new releases are you looking forward to?
Are there any sequels you’re excited for?
