We’re finally at the end of the line!
I started these last June! It’s taken me a year to get through my Goodreads TBR!
Though to be fair I took several hiatuses! And I’m even on a semi one now.
Never again will I leave my Goodreads alone to multiply and turn into a mess for so long!
It’s been just under a year since I finished writing these posts and I haven’t really sorted my Goodreads shelves since ahahah. But I’m promising myself I’ll do it again once I’ve finished my course.
For those of you who have no idea what I’m talking about, I started participating in the Down the TBR Hole meme mid last year in hopes of getting my Goodreads TBRs under control.
Now I don’t just have one or a few TBR shelves on Goodreads because I’ve found that breaking my TBR down into different categories that I find myself searching for in particular makes it easier for me to find them when the mood hits.
I’ve actually dumped this system since and most of my TBR are on one main shelf. But past Grey thought she had it all figured out.
For example I often find myself feeling like reading a graphic novel, anthologies, non fiction or books with LGBTQIAP+ rep so having them on their own shelves saves me time since I don’t have to sift through books I’ve already read to find something to pick up!
It’s taken me months to reorganize everything and to get rid of books I’m no longer interested in but I’ve finally completed the daunting task and feel loads better for it.
So now it’s time to look at a breakdown at the types of books I had on my TBR!
If you would like to buy any of the following books please consider using my Book Depository Affliate link!
Middle Grade – 👧 = 14
YA – 👱♀️ = 422
Adult – 👩💼 = 147
Big surprise! My biggest age range was YA!
Non Fiction, Biography, Memoir – 📑 = 100
Short Stories, Graphic Novels, Anthologies, Poetry- 📕 = 52
Science – ⚛️ = 5
Historical – 🎩 = 76
Sci Fi – 🚀 = 81
Fantasy, Magical Realism – ✨ = 217
Contemporary – 🖥️ = 225
Mystery, Crime – 🔍 = 87
Suspense, Thriller, Horror – 💀 = 72
Surprisingly though, my biggest genre was contemporary! I would have thought it would have been fantasy.
Series or Stand Alone
Series – 🗃️ = 187
Stand Alone – 📁 = 447
And again, I’m surprised to see that I had over double the stand alones compared to books in series!
I’ve actually changed the representation that I include in my posts now, but this is what it was when I completed my drafts of these posts. It’s more or less the same, at least in regards to Down the TBR Hole. I’ve just separated Neurodiversity, disability and trauma into their own categories now, instead of lumping them all together.
LGBTQIA+ – 🏳️🌈 = 241
POC – 🔆 = 136
Neurodiversity, Disability, Trauma – 🧠 = 96
Feminism – 🚺 = 54
Fat Rep – ➕ = 4
I’m pretty happy that my shelves have as much diversity as they do but I’m still going to try and make sure my reading is as diverse as possible going forward!
Down The TBR Hole
How Many Books Did I Purge?
I started out with 657 books.
I kept 330 books on my shelves.
I purged 246 books!
And if you’re wondering why the fuck that math doesn’t add up its because I also moved 81 books to different shelves.
I am actually pretty happy with that! Although I wasn’t able to reduce my TBR by half, I wasn’t too far off with only 411 books left from the shelves I went through for this series!
Yay! I’m finally finished!!
Well at least until I have time to do this all over again.
If you want to go back and read all of my posts in this series, you can do so here.
Should I do Down The TBR Posts in the future?
What books have you added to your TBR recently?
Please tell me I’m not alone with a seemingly never ending GR TBR???
