Month in Review // I Think I Need To Delete Facebook Again – May

Well. It’s Been A Month.

I don’t know if I have much more words in me to sum it up better than that.

But I suppose I should try.

I read a lot, I spent too much time of Facebook, I got really fucking angry, I went to the movies, I had dinner with mum, work had me wanting to pull out my hair, I got into a fight with my Nana and had a meltdown while I was visiting my aunt. Oh and a went on a hike and almost died.

Am I breaking my own rules by purchasing a physical copy of this book even though I haven’t read it or anything else by the author and I already fucking have it? Also yes.

BUT!!! It get’s an exception because I know I’m probably gonna love it and then end up buying it anyway because everyone and their dog loves it and also its a fave of Piera Forde and I would trust her with my life.

But mostly, I bought it from a thrift store for only $4. That’s a steal.

I’ve binge watched all the episodes on Netflix and god was it good. I love Frankie so much, I mean she’d people one of those people I could only handle in small amounts in real life but watching her wreak havoc on everything she touches?? An icon.

I love Coyote and Brianna so much! I feel like they each represent an opposing side of my personality, with a little Bud thrown in, if we’re being totally honest. If you wanna know what it’s like in my head, watch any scene where these three characters interact.

Month’s Goals

☁️ Start walking regularly again because boy have I been hella fucking slack without any good reason! ❌

I’ve been walking more than last month, but it’s still not great.

☁️ Keep up with taking detailed notes while reading each book ✅

I’ve been really great at this! I just have to make sure I have my Google Doc ready to go for ebook reading before I start reading because it’s too hard to set up on my phone. Templates are helping with that though . . . well they would if it wasn’t for the fact I keep changing how I want it formatted with every book!

I really fucking wish I’d started doing the detailed notes thing before I read the first 2 Raven Cycle books that I’m still yet to write reviews for, months later.
But you live and you learn. Hopefully I can just go off the quotes I have saved and form some sort of notes that way.

I tried but I read so many books! I’ll get there.

I don’t have a functioning laptop, just a desktop computer (in hindsight I know I should have gotten a laptop but whatever) and I like to watch TV while I’m entering quotes but my mum is using her laptop to study and I don’t like type large amounts of stuff using just my tablet or phone. But I am buying a keyboard for my tablet tonight (23/5) so that will hopefully mean I can start getting on top the quote entering.

(1/6) HAHAHA I bought the keyboard and hated it so I returned it and I’m saving for a second hand laptop instead.

I did, it kind of went to shit and I left early but I went!

☁️ Apply for some full time work ❌

So, I’m not applying for work now because I’m still too anxious. Instead I’m enrolling in a course to help build my confidence.

I Nearly Died

So my mum took me on a hike and it was beautiful. I got to see a waterfall, and the clearest water I’ve ever seen, and I looked out over the trail from inside a cave.

But to get to the cave I had to climb a lot of steps and I ended up having my first asthma attack in 15 years.

And because I hadn’t had one in so long, I never take a puffer with me anywhere anymore, so then I had a panic attack while having the asthma attack and cried while mum tried to get me to calm down and I watched a 3 year old walk up the steps, perfectly fine.

But the view was breath-taking and I still pushed myself to make it to the waterfall and cried once I got there because I’m a wreck. I’m looking forward to going again, we’re going to make it a monthly thing, but next time, no cave.

Mother’s Day

For Mother’s Day, my mum, brother, and I went out for dinner and I got to meet my brother’s adorable kitten, Loki. He’s so cute, I was nearly crying over how cute he is. Listen, I am an emotional wreck lately. I just love baby animals so much.

Then Mum and I went to see Avengers: Endgame, with mum not having finished Infinity War, so I had to give her a quick catch up before it started. And I still haven’t watched the last Ant-Man movie but I could join the dots for the most part.

It was a great night out and I didn’t once want to strangle my brother so that’s always a win in my book.

Weekend Away

So, as you can imagine I was desperate to go on my weekend away to my aunts.

I listened to a whole audiobook on the way there, from start to finish, so I was starting it on a good note.

Unfortunately, I did not sleep as well as I did last time, not even close. And my mental health is severely affected by my lack of sleep so that wasn’t great.

I Enrolled in a Course

So, since my mum could see that I still was super anxious about applying for jobs, she enrolled me into a course on bookkeeping so I would gain a bit more confidence before diving into the job-seeking world again.

I’m hoping it won’t affect my ability to blog too much, but I’m also realistic so there’s a chance I might have to go on hiatus again soon. Hopefully after Pride month because I was really looking forward to doing a special pride Grey Learns.
