Grey’s Shelves // Library Love – 2018

This year I decided to take advantage of my state’s great library system!

I thought I would be moving interstate right about now but instead, my parents separated and I just moved to a different suburb but that didn’t stop me from reading library books!

I think I have well and truly taken advantage of the fact that all the libraries in my state are connected!

This means I can get a hold of any book in any library in my state relatively easily by requesting for it to be transferred to a library closer to me, though it can mean a bit of a wait!

I am so incredibly thankful for my state library system because otherwise this ferocious reader would have quickly run out of free books to read!

I wanna take this post to highlight just how many books I read from the library this year and mostly just take the time to be thankful for the goodness that is libraries, especially since I know it is such a privilege for me to have so many libraries I can easily have access to.

Because of how much travelling I do within my state for work and such, I have been to quite a lot of libraries and I am starting to wonder if maybe I should make it my mission to go to every library in my state but that might be a bit much.

All in all, out of the 103 books I’ve read this year, 94 of those have been library books!

I think I have well and truly taken advantage of the greatness that is my state’s library system!

Next year I want to focus on my growing backlist of owned books I have ignored for the last year but I will be still reading books from the library every once and a while!
