Back when I was doing Graphic Novel December I picked up Saga Volume 1 because I had seen such incredible talk about it on both Goodreads and YouTube.
I really had no idea what I was getting into to be quiet honest.
It has been a wild ride so far and I’m a little obsessed now hence the mini-reviews five volumes in. Honestly, I just wanted to share some quotes that I found amazing.
│Saga Vol 5│Brian K. Vaughan││
It doesn’t matter who started it or what it’s really about
War usually ends up sucking most for women.
I love this series so much! I can’t get enough of it!
The humour really is a stand out for me! Where else can you get scenes like this;
[Cut to The Brand & Sophie roasting marshmellows around the fire]
The Brand: “So, yeah,”
“That’s what abortion is.”
I mean that’s basically any interaction between me and my younger cousins.
I’m so attached to every single one of these characters that it’s devastating when a single one of them is killed off. I can’t feel safe because even when I think they won’t do it, a character dies.
Regardless of sex, everyone loses something in war
But the first casualty is always the TRUTH.

I’ve found that cultures often clash for the same reasons that people do.
It’s not because we’re so different.
It’s because we’re all so goddamn alike.
I love watching Hazel and Sophie grow up. They both are just so innocent and well-meaning despite the shit going on around them.
I really enjoy present Hazel’s insightful narration as well, it packs a lot of wisdom throughout the series.
I don’t think this series could ever let me down at this point, I just can’t wait for more!
Have you read any of the Saga volumes?
